Just a couple of kids

Just kidding... We actually found each other a little later in life than most of our friends and siblings. We married in 2011, and walked through loss early on with a miscarriage in 2012. Not long after, a presentation at our church shifted the entire trajectory of our family. Christian Family Care challenged us with a simple truth: everyone deserves someone whose heart will break for them. We signed up to become foster parents that same day.

Our fostering journey began in 2014 and grew quickly. Over the years, our home welcomed newborns, toddlers, siblings who needed to stay together, and children in crisis when Arizona’s system was overwhelmed. We experienced heartbreak, reunifications, hospital stays, caseworker calls at midnight, and the quiet victories that only happen when a child finally feels safe enough to sleep through the night.

Through it all, four incredible kids became our forever family. They are brilliant, neurodivergent, resilient, hilarious, complicated, and deeply loved. We’ve navigated ADHD, Tourette’s, mental health challenges, grief, job changes, and the everyday chaos of raising a crew built through choice.

What we’ve learned is simple: recovery is real, but no one does it alone. “Bootstraps” are a myth. Everyone needs their people.

Bad Omen Boneyard exists because of that truth. Our advocacy-driven streetwear is built from the belief that broken hearts can still build beautiful things — and that community, compassion, and courage matter more than perfection. Every design carries a piece of our story and a reminder that you’re not meant to fight your battles in isolation.
